Morning Routine, General Diary, Thoughts, and Ideas
My last night in the hospital last night went to bed late, drank quite a bit while watching England v France get beat by a shocking referee and then I stayed up even later to watch the film Taken with my son, I’d seen it before, but he hadn’t and it’s quite an entertaining action film. Got up around 9 am in the hospital and completed the bulk of my morning routine.
Day 18 for my son post-transplant and we were allowed to take him home! No more teenage cancer trust, filtered air room. The NHS staff, Doctors, Nurses, Support Staff, and the Candlelighters charity people have been exceptional.
I had a typical hospital breakfast while waiting for the discharge sheet and all of my son’s many drugs. The breakfast was about 6 biscuits, 2 packs of crisps, a piece of cake, and a load of coffee to wash it down. Will get healthier starting Tuesday, honest. Not Monday as we’re going to celebrate him coming home tonight with some champagne so I will probably want hangover food tomorrow morning.
Food Diary
Today I ate:
Lots of crisps, biscuits, and cake.
Then at home, I had noodles with Costco chicken nuggets and sweet chili sauce.
Later may indulge in a celebratory takeaway.

Keynotes from the book today were:
You don’t have to build trust with a potential buyer you just need to find the pain points that they have with the process right now.
Do not begin by introducing yourself or your intentions otherwise you won’t learn about their real pain points. Introductions and intentions can come later. Ask about their routine, and problems they face with the process. Find out how they could be improved. You don’t want the person to link your questions to your work. You need genuine, trustworthy heartfelt answers.
Three block screening process:
Block 1: Pre-evaluation screening – “eliminate people who do nothing connected to the idea or product you want to launch”. These will be Do you questions.
Do you make court bookings?
Do you manage members?
Do you take payments for events?
Block 2: About the person – When you have the right audience you need to dig down into their work to get a bigger picture of your customer. Find out what they do? What their interests are? etc. At a later point this information can be divided into portfolios so that you always have a summary.
Block 3: Asking questions about the jobs to be done – This is where you need a full, detailed understanding of the process and how the person interacts with the process. Has money or time been spent to solve the problem? If it has then the problem exists. These will be what, why, when, where and how questions. In what situations do you…? What is the…? When was the last time…? How do you…?
When you have a set of general data you can then ask specific questions about the product with the customers permission.
My Core Journal
What did you achieve yesterday?
Yesterday (Saturday 10th) I:
- Watch the two quarter-final football world cup games Morocco v Portugal at 3 pm, followed by England v France at 7 pm – England deserved to win. ✅
- Got LogSeq working on my phone but I think it needs some improvements before it’s as usable as the desktop version. I also got Google Drive set up so that all my notes are stored in the cloud. ✅
What would make today great?
2 to 3 tasks, see core journal – micro goals
